If you’d like to stay close to our resort, but still want to get out and take some landscape photos, Burlington Bay is a short walk from your suite. Did you know that Burlington Bay and Agate Bay are the two harbors that make up, “Two Harbors?” These two bays are perfect for agate hunting but even more so it offers a great opportunity to capture Lake Superior in all her beauty. Take a walk on the wild side and head throughout the local area trails to capture winter wildlife that you might not be able to see during our warmer months. This area is a great place to visit when the weather starts to get warmer as well; when the rocks start peaking through the snow, find an agate to take a photo of. Not only will you have a photo of your time spent at Burlington Bay, but you’ll also have a beautiful agate rock to bring home.

Whether you head down to Canal Park in Duluth, up north for Split Rock Lighthouse, or our very own Two Harbors Lighthouse, you won’t want to miss out on these photo-worthy locations. Glistening against the gorgeous blue sky, each of these lighthouses shines brightly against their picturesque landscape. Canal Park, offers two beautiful lighthouses set on either side of the canal. Many people flock to this spot early in the morning to capture the sunrise over Lake Superior. Split Rock Lighthouse is an iconic North Shore location which you can capture for miles along the coast. Two Harbors offers a red lighthouse worth filming; it’s unique color and design is great for landscape photographs. You can even tour a museum at each of these locations to learn more about their prospective lighthouses.
